Birds Fly…That isn’t a wonder!!

But, not every bird flies high…’coz not every bird wishes to touch the sky!!

It’s not just the wings that matter.

It’s the will, it’s the ability that counts.

Attitude in our life determines the altitude of our achievements.

We don’t know how many contests we have participated in where our expectations were low.

Almost without exception, our results parallel our expectations, and our expectations parallel our preparation.

The real challenge is to maintain a positive attitude when all is not right. After all, when is everything right? Not very often!

The list of excuses that detract from optimum performance is almost endless. It runs the gamut from the ridiculous to the sublime. Here is a list of certain excuses:

  • I didn’t have time to practice.

  • I don’t understand the tasks.

  • I’ve got a terrible headache.

  • I can’t get focused today.

  • I can’t deal with the pressure.

  • I can’t beat him.

  • I don’t like to compete.

Look what happens when we replace negative phrases such as “I can’t,” “I don’t,” “I hate,” etc., with affirmative ones and see what a difference it makes.

When we say, “I can,” and expect success, we fill ourselves with confidence and happiness. Fill our minds with light, happiness, hope, feelings of security and strength, and soon our lives will reflect these qualities.

“Human beings can ALTER their lives by ALTERING their attitudes of mind.”

Positive Attitude Is Contagious

Believe it or not, attitude is contagious. People around you pick up your mental moods and are affected accordingly. Think about happiness, good health and success, and you will cause people to like you and desire to help you, because they enjoy the vibrations that a positive mind emits.

Would you like to change your outlook on life and become a more positive person?

Perhaps it is just a matter of changing your approach to how you handle sending negative and critical comments, either to yourself or to those around you.

Feel Good About Yourself

Give your appearance the attention it deserves. Bear in mind that a negative self-image can lead to a negative attitude, while good grooming and clothes that are becoming can lift your spirits and build your confidence.

Are you aware of the inner dialogue you carry on with yourself during your working hours? Do you say critical and negative things to yourself, such as “I’m always making errors,” or “That’s just my luck”?

The first step in overcoming negative self-talk is to become aware of it. The next step is to replace these self-defeating thoughts with positive and productive ones.

Feed your mind with positive thoughts. Why not resolve to read at least one motivational or inspirational book each month?

Change your vocabulary. When someone asks how you are doing, instead of saying “all right,” say “superb.”

Keep a record of the positive things in your life. If you like to keep a diary or journal, you may find it helpful to record positive things.

Let nature replenish your inner resources. Even a few fleeting moments enjoying the beauty of a sunrise or a sunset can give your spirits the lift they need.

Share your positive attitude by encouraging others. Never miss an opportunity to compliment people on their achievements, their work or their appearance.

Vary your routine. Probably, the most common way to add variety to life is to take a vacation. Often, even small changes such as taking a new route to work, eating at a different restaurant or shopping in a store you’ve never been to can make a difference.

Let go of regrets about the past. Instead of blaming yourself and constantly rehashing past mistakes, take the opportunity to learn from the past. Build on past experiences to improve yourself and your abilities.

Start each day on a positive, upbeat note. The start of your day will set the tempo for everything that follows. Do something every morning that will put you in a good mood, whether that is taking a walk, listening to some upbeat music, doing a crossword, or just relaxing with a good cup of coffee.

Laugh a little. A sense of humor can not only diffuse tension and promote a light-hearted atmosphere, it can also enhance your career.

Try a friendly smile today and see what happens.

I’m sending you a smile to start off.
