Experts say that oral communication is composed of several different attributes:
Words, tone of voice and non-verbal clues.
Some of these have more effect on the delivery of the message than others.
According to research, in a conversation or verbal exchange:
Words = 7% of the Message
Tone of Voice = 38%
In other words, WHAT you say…
…is not nearly as important as HOW you say it!
And remember that especially in phone conversations.
Don’t call someone when you are angry or upset.
