Performance counts in your job. It doesn’t matter how much you know or how good you look. If you don’t produce, you will not be successful.
The elevator to success is out of order. You’ll have to use the stairs…one step at a time.
Success is more attitude than aptitude.
Success doesn’t come to you – you go to it.
There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure.
It is never a question as to whether it can be done – it is only whether one cares to spend the time and effort.
Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.
If I were limited to passing along only two guidelines for job success, there’s no question in my mind that they would be:
• Know what’s expected of you
• Exceed those expectations
Although there are no guarantees in business (or in life), building a reputation as a
top-notch employee increases your odds for:
• Enjoying job protection and security
• Receiving developmental assignments and training
• Being considered for promotion (“upward mobility”)
• Landing a similar or better job elsewhere – if the need arises
