Mechatronics focuses on the seamless combination of mechanical structures with sensors, actuators, embedded systems, and control algorithms to create efficient, precise, and reliable products, while robotics is a specialized branch that applies mechatronic principles to the design and operation of robots capable of sensing, decision-making, and autonomous or semi-autonomous action. Mechatronics and robotics enable the development of systems such as industrial robots, autonomous vehicles, medical devices, drones, smart manufacturing equipment, and service robots. The field emphasizes system-level design, real-time control, human–machine interaction, and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance adaptability and performance.
