Course details

A variety of common process equipment is used in the Chemical Process Industries (CPI) such as chemicals, petrochemicals and oil and gas industries. Some of the equipment is even used in other industries such as power, iron and steel and cement. Examples of such widely used process equipment include various types of heat exchangers – heaters, coolers, condensers, evaporators; fired heaters and boilers, cooling towers and chilling units as well as columns such as distillation and absorption columns and flow equipment such as compressors and pumps. Apart from process engineers and supervisors who would like to revise and learn practical aspects of these equipment, the course will be very useful for non process professionals with electrical, mechanical and instrumentation background and working in maintenance, projects, design and site installation and commissioning. The course covers the theory in brief, design aspects, process and service specifications, selection and application aspects of these equipment and operations in a practical manner. Special emphasis is given on the requirement and selection of instrumentation and control for these process equipments.
