Questions and Answers

A: 0.052 psi/ft is the hard boundary. If the fluid column no longer provides enough hydrostatic head, well control is gone regardless of pump rate. Hydrostatic pressure prevents influx at static conditions, but it doesn't cover dynamic swab effects when pipe movement locally drops BHP below pore pressure.

A: 100 microns is the tell. LCM sizing targets pore throat or fracture width, a formation sealing role that won't show up as a line on a P&ID. The drawing only shows flow paths, not the intent to bridge losses in the rock.

A: 30–40% torque increase without shaker loading points to friction, not solids. Lubricity affects torque and ROP directly, while cuttings transport issues almost always show up in returns before torque spikes this cleanly.

A: 0.052 psi/ft/ppg drives this. 10.0 × 0.052 × 5,000 gives about 2,600 psi. Miss the constant or the depth conversion and you're off by a factor of two or ten.
