Course details

This course teaches Heat and Mass Transfer (HMT) in a clear and easy way, covering the three main modes of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation, along with heat exchangers. It explains important concepts like thermal conductivity, Fourier’s law, heat conduction in gases, fins, and transient conduction in conduction. In the convection part, you will learn about forced and natural convection, along with important dimensionless numbers like Reynolds, Prandtl, and Nusselt numbers, and heat transfer over flat surfaces and through pipes. The course also explains different types and classifications of heat exchangers, including concepts like LMTD, NTU, and fouling factor. In the radiation section, topics such as absorptivity, reflectivity, transmissivity, radiation laws, and shape factors are covered. The course includes formula derivations, numerical problems, examples, and advanced applications to help students understand the subject deeply. It is designed according to academic requirements of HMT for students. The first two lectures are free previews, where the syllabus and basic ideas of heat transfer modes are introduced. Students are recommended to watch these lectures before joining the course.
