Lighting Layouts, DB & MTO Design

This course provides practical knowledge of lighting layout preparation, distribution board (DB) design, and material take-off (MTO) for electrical projects. Participants learn how to develop indoor and outdoor lighting layouts based on project requirements and applicable standards. The course covers selection and placement of lighting fixtures for different areas and applications. It explains lighting circuit planning, switching arrangements, and connection details. Participants learn how to prepare and organize lighting DBs with suitable outgoing circuits and protective devices. The course introduces load calculations and proper distribution of lighting loads across circuits. It also covers the selection and sizing of lighting cables, poles, DBs, accessories, and related materials. Participants learn how to prepare accurate MTOs for lighting systems using engineering drawings and layouts. Practical considerations such as equipment locations, cable routing, accessibility, and coordination with other disciplines are also discussed. By the end of the course, participants can understand and apply the complete workflow from lighting layout development to DB planning and MTO preparation.
