Why enroll

People enroll in the Role of Energy Management & Energy Efficiency in industries course to gain a clear understanding of how proper energy management system(EnMS) can lead to save million of Rupees/Dollars in industries.

Energy management System is a mission of present indury leaders. A clear understanding on how to implement EnMS in respective industries will help the top management to save operational costs.

Energy Efficiency is called one of the biggest pillars in increasing the efficiency of various high capacity machines, Boilers, Turbines, Heat Exchangers etc, thereby reducing costly fossil fuel cost and in turn reducing the CO2 has emission.

After going through this course the participant will get in-depth understanding on how to increase Energy Efficiency in their plants/industries.

Is this course for you?

You should take this if

  • You work in Energy & Utilities or Oil & Gas Upstream
  • You're a Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering professional
  • You want to build skills in Energy efficiency optimization, Energy Management and Audit
  • You prefer live, instructor-led training with Q&A

You should skip if

  • You need a different specialisation outside Mechanical Engineering
  • You need fully self-paced, on-demand content

Course details

The objective of this course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the vital role played by the  engineers/Technologists/ Energy Auditors in industries.

It aims to equip participants with the knowledge of Energy management system(EnMS), how energy management system is very much helpful in cutting down the overall operating cost by saving energy, how energy can be saved in the overall process, what is energy efficiency & why energy efficiency is one of the main pillars to reduce global warming & reduction of operating cost.

By the end of the course participants will claerly understand Step by step approach to implement Energy Efficiency methods & Energy Management System (EnMS) thereby considerable energy saving & reducing considerable CO2 emission.

Questions and Answers

A: Picking the wrong option burns power continuously and locks in avoidable losses for years, which shows up fast under an audit. Throttling a centrifugal pump wastes head as heat, so pairing even a very efficient motor with a valve doesn’t address the dominant loss. Variable speed shifts the duty point itself, and an IE3 motor already meets most regulatory baselines without the cost and harmonic risk of IE4 in this service.

A: Choosing the wrong mechanism leads to rapid wall loss and tube leaks within a season, killing availability. When flue gas is cooled below the acid dew point, sulphur compounds condense as acid on metal surfaces, aggressively attacking carbon steel even at modest temperatures. The other mechanisms need either much higher metal temperature, solids loading, or chloride-rich aqueous phases that aren’t present here.

A: Assuming protection that isn’t there can end with overheated cables or a capacitor fire, triggering an incident report. Power factor correction cuts reactive current and helps voltage, but it doesn’t block harmonic currents; in some cases it resonates with them and makes heating worse. Demand charges and resistive losses do improve, but harmonics need filters or active solutions.

A: Backing the wrong horse locks in wasted air and pushes compressors to run harder, shortening service life. Leaks directly translate to kWh with zero benefit, and control instability multiplies that loss. Heat recovery only works on energy you still consume after leaks are fixed; raising pressure or changing compressor type doesn’t address the root waste.
