Head of Department – Toolroom

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of toolmakers, CNC operators, and design staff.

  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and conduct regular training and upskilling sessions.

  • Promote a culture of discipline, precision, and safety.

• Toolroom Operations:

  • Supervise the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures.

  • Ensure proper planning and scheduling to meet production targets and deadlines.

  • Coordinate with production, quality, and design teams to ensure tooling solutions meet requirements.

• Process Improvement:

  • Implement best practices for lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen in the toolroom.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve toolroom processes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

• Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical support in CNC programming, conventional machining, and precision measurement.

  • Evaluate tool wear, implement preventive maintenance, and oversee tool modifications.

• Inventory & Cost Control:

  • Manage inventory of toolroom equipment, raw materials, and spares.

  • Monitor and control toolroom expenses and develop cost-saving initiatives.

• Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain proper documentation of tool drawings, work orders, and maintenance logs.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality certifications (e.g., ISO).
