About this role
What you'll be doing day-to-day.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to ensure that all supplied materials and components meet required quality standards. The SQE will work closely with suppliers, procurement, and internal teams to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues, and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or related field
3–8 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or vendor development
Strong knowledge of quality tools:
APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA
Root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.)
Experience in supplier audits and vendor management
Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS)
Good understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, machining, fabrication, etc.)
Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation
What you'll do
The core responsibilities expected from this role.
Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through audits, capability assessments, and risk analysis
Develop and implement supplier quality requirements and standards
Conduct supplier audits (process, system, and product audits)
Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as PPM, on-time delivery, and defect rates
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for supplier-related issues
Handle supplier quality issues, including non-conformance reports (NCRs) and 8D reports
Collaborate with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and product quality
Review and approve PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions
Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 (if automotive)
Support new product development (NPD) by ensuring supplier readiness
Work cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, and production teams
