Engineers also conduct detailed structural analyses, such as modal and harmonic studies, to ensure that vehicle components do not resonate at operational frequencies. These findings influence the design of the chassis, body-in-white (BIW), and mounting systems for major components like the engine and suspension.

Vibration control is essential not only for comfort but also for durability and safety. Poorly managed vibrations can lead to component fatigue and failure over time. As a result, designers carefully select materials and geometries to tune or shift natural frequencies and use structural reinforcements to minimize flexing.
