For example, in the natural gas industry, logistics involves managing the pipelines, trucks, storage facilities, and distribution centers that handle oil as it is transformed along the supply chain. A logistics management system underpins that effort and includes inbound and outbound transportation management, warehouse management, fleet management, order processing, inventory control, supply and demand forecasting, and managing third-party logistics service providers. The primary goal of logistics management is to provide better customer service. Logistics management aims to eliminate processing errors by establishing a streamlined process flow.
