This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental skills and knowledge required to interpret architectural, construction, and structural drawings. The course provides an in-depth understanding of how to read and analyze various types of technical drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction and structural diagrams.
Students will learn to recognize architectural symbols, notations, and conventions, and understand how these elements contribute to the communication of design intent and construction specifications. Emphasis will be placed on the relationship between architectural design and structural engineering, as well as the importance of accurate interpretation in the construction process.
