Initially, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this course. Coming from a power plant O&M background, quality topics often feel abstract compared to day‑to‑day issues like turbine maintenance or substation commissioning. This course helped connect ISO‑9001 concepts to real site work instead of just theory. The sessions on QMS structure, document control, and internal audits were particularly relevant. Responsibilities between QA, QC, and operations were explained in a way that made sense for utility projects, especially where maintenance teams and contractors overlap. One challenge faced during the course was translating ISO clause language into practical actions on a live site, where paperwork is usually seen as overhead. It took some effort to see how procedures and records actually protect operations, not slow them down. A practical takeaway was learning how to build a simple process map and corrective action log that can be used during shutdowns and routine inspections. This filled a knowledge gap around handling nonconformities during audits at operating plants and construction interfaces. The content felt aligned with practical engineering demands.
