Why enroll

Participants joined this conference to engage in high-level intellectual discourse and to share the latest research findings in a rapidly evolving energy landscape. For many, it was an opportunity to adapt to the "new normal" of virtual networking while maintaining professional connections and academic excellence in the face of global travel restrictions. Industry practitioners and engineers joined to explore practical solutions for grid flexibility, resiliency, and the technical challenges of integrating decentralized renewable energy. Students and early-career researchers participated to learn from seasoned experts and gain exposure to the interdisciplinary skills required for Industry 4.0, such as data science and machine learning. Ultimately, the conference aimed to foster long-term international partnerships that would drive the future of electrical and power engineering for the betterment of society.

Seminar details

The 2021 IEEE International Conference in Power Engineering Application (ICPEA 2021) was a landmark virtual event organized by the Center for Electrical Power Engineering Studies (CEPES) at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. Transitioned to an online format due to COVID-19 restrictions, the conference successfully bridged the gap between global researchers and industry experts from over seven countries, including the USA, Egypt, and Indonesia. The event served as a critical platform for disseminating pioneering innovations in power systems, focusing on the integration of big data, intelligent systems, and renewable energy. It featured prominent keynote speakers, such as John D. McDonald from GE Grid Solutions, who provided deep insights into the transition from traditional smart grids to modernized, data-driven utility frameworks.
