Why enroll

This course helps students learn signals and systems in a clear and practical way. It improves problem-solving skills, which are essential for engineers. Learners gain confidence to handle advanced subjects and real-world engineering challenges.

Is this course for you?

You should take this if

  • You work in Medical Instruments or Pharmaceutical & Healthcare
  • You're a Electronics & Telecommunication / Data Science & Analysis professional
  • You have 3+ years of hands-on experience in this field
  • You want to build skills in Project Management, Research & Developmnet

You should skip if

  • You're new to this field with no prior experience
  • You need a different specialisation outside Electronics & Telecommunication
  • You need live interaction with an instructor

Course details

This course is designed for final-year undergraduate and graduate engineering students who want to strengthen their understanding of signals and systems through a practical approach. It is especially suitable for Electrical Engineering students with a solid foundation in Signals and Systems. Students from other engineering branches, computer science, mathematics, physics, or geophysics can also comfortably follow the course. The focus of the course is on developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Concepts are explained through a structured series of carefully chosen problems and detailed solutions. This helps learners understand not only the theory but also its practical application. Prior knowledge of Digital Signal Processing is helpful but not mandatory. The course builds confidence in tackling real engineering problems step by step. Emphasis is given to clarity, logic, and systematic thinking. By the end of the course, students will be able to analyze and solve complex problems independently.

Questions and Answers

A: A: Auto-zero helps offset, not bias current. The chopping spikes show up as wideband trash in ECG. Not acceptable at the electrode. B: JFET input keeps bias current down, and DRL knocks down common-mode where mains lives. That's the balance. C: Bipolar bias current will polarize the electrodes and drift the baseline. You see it after a few minutes on the bench. D: Discrete INA looks fine on paper, but matching and CMRR collapse with motion and temperature.

A: A: There is a junction, but the gel dominates the chemistry, not the wire. B: Saline gel dries, chloride distribution shifts, and half-cell potential walks. That's your noise. C: No stim here, and EEG levels won't pit silver. D: PCB oxidation is slow and doesn't explain per-channel impedance drift overnight.

A: A: Nyquist moved. Without more analog attenuation, muscle content folds back. Fix it before the ADC. B: Amplitude isn't the issue; frequency folding is. Gain just makes the mess bigger. C: Resolution doesn't stop aliasing. Wrong lever. D: Baseline wander is unrelated to sampling rate change.

A: A: Those resistors are part of patient protection and fault current limiting. No symbol, no proof. Stop. B: Test points are nice, not a safety blocker. C: AA cap value matters, but it's not a patient hazard. D: Decoupling is assumed and audited elsewhere.
