Foundation Design & Vendor Drawing Review

This course provides practical knowledge of foundation design concepts for industrial and infrastructure projects. It covers the basic design considerations for tank foundations, including load transfer, stability, settlement, and structural requirements. Participants will learn the design concepts of foundations for substation equipment and transformers. The course also explains foundation requirements for pumps and other rotating equipment. Key aspects such as equipment loads, anchor bolts, vibration considerations, and foundation interfaces are discussed. A dedicated section focuses on vendor drawing review and the identification of commonly made mistakes in vendor documents. Participants will learn how to use a systematic checklist for reviewing and commenting on vendor drawings precisely. The course also introduces techno-commercial evaluation and the importance of technical compliance during document review. It explains the VDR stamping process and effective coordination during vendor document reviews. Sample VDR documents are discussed to provide practical understanding of real-world review practices.
