Ultrasonic Testing level I

The Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level I course introduces participants to the fundamental principles and practical applications of ultrasonic testing in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). The course explains how high-frequency sound waves are used to inspect materials and identify internal defects without damaging the components. Participants learn the basic principles of ultrasound generation, propagation, reflection, and attenuation in different materials. The training covers ultrasonic testing equipment, probes, cables, couplants, and calibration blocks used during inspections. Participants understand the functions of different ultrasonic transducers and their applications in industrial inspection. The course introduces basic calibration procedures and instrument settings required for reliable testing. It also explains how to detect and recognize common discontinuities such as cracks, inclusions, voids, and lack of fusion. Participants learn to follow approved testing procedures, safety precautions, and relevant industry standards. The training covers basic interpretation of ultrasonic indications, recording inspection results, and preparing test reports under appropriate supervision. Upon completion, participants gain foundational knowledge of ultrasonic testing and an understanding of the responsibilities of a Level I technician, subject to the applicable certification scheme and its requirements.
