What you'll be doing day-to-day.

We are seeking a knowledgeable Mechanical Engineer or MEP Specialist to join our team as a Part-Time HVAC & Fire Fighting Trainer. In this role, you will design and deliver comprehensive training modules covering both HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and fire protection system design. Your goal will be to equip engineering students, MEP designers, and facility technicians with practical design calculations, code compliance skills, and real-world project workflows.

What you'll do

The core responsibilities expected from this role.

Course Delivery: Conduct engaging online or classroom training sessions on HVAC design principles, psychrometrics, and fire fighting/life safety systems.
Curriculum & Content Development: Prepare, update, and structure training modules, real-world MEP case studies, calculation templates, and design assignments.
HVAC Training Scope: Teach heat load calculations (e.g., E20/HAP), duct sizing, chilled water & DX system design, air distribution, equipment selection (AHUs, chillers, FCUs), and ventilation standards (ASHRAE).
Fire Fighting Training Scope: Teach fire sprinkler system design, standpipe/hose systems, fire pump room layouts, gas suppression (FM-200, $\text{CO}_2$ ), and hydraulic calculations.
Codes & Standards: Impart practical knowledge of relevant codes and standards including ASHRAE, NFPA (NFPA 13, 14, 20, 25), NBC, and local municipal safety regulations.
Software & Tools Guidance: Demonstrate practical workflows using drafting and sizing tools such as AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, HAP (Hourly Analysis Program), and hydraulic calculation software.
Mentorship & Evaluation: Review trainee design projects, troubleshoot design errors, and conduct practical assessments to evaluate learning outcomes.
