VMC Machine operator

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a skilled and responsible VMC Machine Operator with practical experience in operating VMC machines and maintaining production quality, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.

Educational Qualification

- ITI in Machinist / Turner / Fitter or equivalent technical trade.

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities

- Operate Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines as per production requirements.

- Set up machines, tools, fixtures, and workpieces.

- Read and understand engineering drawings and machining specifications.

- Perform tool changes, tool offsets, and basic machine parameter adjustments.

- Monitor machining operations and achieve production targets.

- Inspect finished components using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, and other measuring instruments.

- Maintain dimensional accuracy and required surface finish.

- Perform basic troubleshooting and report machine/tooling issues to the supervisor.

- Follow quality, production, and workplace safety procedures.

- Maintain proper housekeeping and care of machines and tools.

Required Skills

- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in VMC machine operation.

- Good knowledge of milling, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, and other machining operations.

- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/engineering drawings.

- Knowledge of cutting tools, tool selection, and machining parameters.

- Good knowledge of measuring instruments and dimensional inspection.

- Basic knowledge of CNC programming, G-code and M-code will be an advantage.

- Ability to meet production and quality targets.

- Strong attention to accuracy and workplace safety.
