VTL Machine operator

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a skilled and responsible VTL Machine Operator with practical experience in operating VTL machines and maintaining production quality, dimensional accuracy, and required surface finish.

Educational Qualification

- ITI in Machinist / Turner / Fitter or equivalent technical trade.

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities

- Operate Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) machines as per production requirements.

- Set up machines, cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces.

- Read and understand engineering drawings and machining specifications.

- Perform tool changes, tool offsets, and basic machine adjustments.

- Monitor machining operations to achieve required production targets.

- Check component dimensions using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, and other measuring instruments.

- Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per specifications.

- Identify basic tooling and machine-related issues and report them to the supervisor.

- Follow quality, production, and workplace safety procedures.

- Maintain proper housekeeping and care of machines and tools.

Required Skills

- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in VTL machine operation.

- Good knowledge of turning, facing, boring, grooving, and other machining operations.

- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/engineering drawings.

- Knowledge of cutting tools, tool selection, and machining parameters.

- Good knowledge of measuring instruments and dimensional inspection.

- Basic knowledge of CNC controls/programming will be an advantage.

- Ability to meet production and quality targets.

- Strong attention to accuracy and safety.
