Steel Structure Foundations design

This course provides a practical understanding of foundation design principles for steel structures. It covers the selection of suitable foundation types based on structural requirements, soil conditions, and applied loads. Participants will learn about load transfer from steel columns to foundations and the basic design considerations for isolated, combined, and pedestal foundations. The course explains dead, live, wind, seismic, equipment, and other relevant foundation loads. Participants will understand soil bearing pressure, settlement, sliding, overturning, and uplift checks. The course also covers column base plates, anchor bolts, and their connection with concrete foundations.
